Biography
Bader is a student of the city who is broadly interested in the intersections of knowledge, space, and society. He is particularly interested in examining how ideational, organizational, and material developments manifest spatially. His scholarship has broached topics as wide-ranging as campus planning in the Gulf, design pedagogy in the United States, and contemporary grassroots activism in the Maghreb.
Bader also explores resonances between architecture and other endeavors, like landscape and literature. His interdisciplinary interest in issues of multilingualism, transregionalism, and translation has led him to examine questions of scale, space, and narrative within the tragic yet mythopoetic context of maritime migration.
An assistant professor of architecture at Kuwait University, Bader's writing has been published in Divergence in Architectural Research, Planning Perspectives, and Society & Space, amongst others.
